Tenant

1 min read

A Tenant is like a branch, department, or subsidiary of your business that runs its own version of the DMS — with separate users, data, and settings.

Think of it this way:

  • If you run a company with multiple branches (e.g., Nairobi branch, Mombasa branch), each branch can be set up as its own tenant.
  • If you manage an Internet Service Provider business with several branches or zones, each branch can also be a separate tenant if they work independently.

Each tenant:

  • Has its own login URL (e.g., branch.yourcompany.thesmartdms.com)
  • Manages its own staff, clients, tasks, payroll, and more
  • Cannot access data from other tenants (unless given special access from the Central Panel)

This setup ensures that each part of your organization stays focused, secure, and independent — while still being connected through a central admin system.
