Task Statuses Overview

1 min read

In The Smart DMS, every task progresses through a series of statuses that reflect its current stage. Understanding these statuses helps employees, managers, and clients stay informed and aligned on the progress of work.

Task Statuses

Below is a summary of all available task statuses and what each means:

1. Pending #

Meaning:
The task has been created but no employee has started working on it yet.

2. In Progress #

Meaning:
An employee has started working on the task, but it hasn’t been finalized or reviewed.

3. Review #

Meaning:
The employee has completed their part of the task, and it’s now awaiting management review or confirmation before being marked as fully completed.

4. Incomplete #

Meaning:
The task was started and finished by the employee, but after review, it was found to be unsatisfactory or not fully done. It may need to be revisited or corrected.

5. Completed #

Meaning:
The task has been successfully completed and approved. No further action is required.

6. Bounced #

Meaning:
The task couldn’t proceed due to external reasons, such as the client being unresponsive or unforeseen issues preventing completion.

If you need to adjust the task status label, you can do so from the Task Settings page. Learn more here.
