The Content Management module in The Smart DMS allows you to manage and publish rich content across your organization — similar to a blog or knowledge base system.
This module supports structured publishing with categories, tags, media, and content types for better organization and discoverability.
What Is Content? #
Content refers to any written or media-based information created and stored in the system. This can include FAQs, announcements, guides, tutorials, and more.
Each content item can be:
- Categorized under a topic or department
- Tagged for searchability
- Assigned a content type (e.g., FAQ, Tutorial)
- Embedded with media like images, PDFs, or videos
Content Types #
When creating content, you can choose a content type to define its purpose or format. Supported types include butnot limited to:
- FAQs – Frequently asked questions or help articles
- Blog Posts
- Guides
💡 Content types help structure how content is displayed and retrieved, especially in filtered views like Help Centers or Knowledge Bases.
Tags #
Tags are keywords you assign to content for better search and filtering. They offer a flexible way to group related items across categories and types.
Example:
A guide titled “How to Reset Your Password” might be tagged: Account
, Security
, Login
.
Categories #
Categories are broad topic areas used to group content logically. Think of them as folders or sections.
Example categories:
- Technical Support
- Marketing Resources
- Training & Onboarding
Media #
You can attach files, images, videos, and documents to any content item. This allows you to:
- Enrich articles with illustrations or screenshots
- Link to downloadable documents (e.g., training PDFs)
- Embed video tutorials
