Using the Global Search Bar in The Smart DMS

The Smart DMS includes a powerful Global Search Bar at the top of every page, allowing you to instantly search across multiple parts of the system from one Central place.

What Can You Search? #

You can currently use the global search to look up:

  • Content – Quickly find internal documentation or knowledge base entries.
  • Tasks – Search by task title or reference.
  • Clients – Instantly locate client profiles.
  • Products (by Serial Number) – Find specific items using their unique serial number.
  • Users – Locate team members by name or email.

This search bar is context-aware and can fetch records across different modules depending on your permissions.

How To Use It #

  1. Look for the search bar at the top of the page (🔍 icon or keyboard shortcut depending on your device).
  2. Start typing your query (e.g., a task name, client name, or serial number).
  3. Results will appear grouped by category.
  4. Click on any result to be taken directly to its details page.

Tip #

You can often search using partial matches — for example, typing part of a client’s name or product code will still bring up results.
