
Creating a marketer allows you to track commissions, assign hierarchies, and configure individual or global commission rates. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Pre-Requisites (Must Read) #
Before creating a marketer, make sure:
- Task Types are Set Up:
Go to Task Types and define the tasks relevant to your business. - Tasks Are Made Commissionable:
While setting up task types, ensure theIs Commissionable
flag is enabled. ⚠️ If this is not done, commission rate dropdowns will appear empty when creating marketers.
Step 2: Open the Marketer Creation Form #
Navigate to Marketing → Marketers → Create New Marketer

Step 3: Fill in Marketer Details #
Field | Description |

User | Select the user to be promoted to a marketer. |
Marketing Manager | Optionally assign a manager (upline) to this marketer. |
Tax Rate Type | Choose between flat or percentage tax for this marketer. |
Tax Rate | Set the applicable tax rate. Default is 0% . |
Step 4: Add Commission Rates (Optional) #
These are individual commission rates for the selected marketer. Leave blank to apply global commission rates instead.

Commission Model | Currently supports “Task”. |
Commission Type | Select the task type (must be commissionable). |
Commission Sub Type | Further refine with sub-type if applicable. |
Rate Type | Percentage or Flat rate. |
Rate | The exact commission amount or percentage. |
You may click “View Global Commission Rates” to see globally defined rates.
Step 5: Add Hierarchical Commission Rates (Optional) #
Use this to assign downline-level commissions, where the marketer earns a portion of what their recruits earn.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Level | The downline depth (e.g. 1 = direct downline). |
Commission Type / Sub Type | Must correspond to commissionable task types. |
Rate Type & Rate | Percentage or Flat value earned from downline’s commissions. |
You may click “View Global Hierarchical Commission Rates” to see existing default structures.
Step 6: Save the Marketer #
Click Save. The user is now marked as a Marketer, and any commissions will be calculated based on the structure you’ve defined or the global defaults.
FAQs #
Q: Why are commission type dropdowns empty?
A: You must set up Task Types and mark them as commissionable before creating marketers.
Q: What happens if I don’t define commission rates here?
A: The system will fallback to Global Commission Rates, which you can set under Marketing → Rates.
Q: Can marketers be moved under other marketers later?
A: Yes, but cyclic hierarchies (e.g. A under B and B under A) are automatically cleaned by the system to avoid conflicts.
